Having recently watched Frozen, I’ve been thinking about doing a Frozen themed beanie. I think it would be really cute, I just don’t know which would be best to go with. Vote on the poll and let me know!

Lots of fun making the Cabbage Patch Baby Beanies!

I’ve had so much fun making these little Cabbage Patch Baby Beanies! I’ve been selling them through various Facebook groups as well as the online store (see store link, of click here). While my daughter plays, sit on the floor or near by and crochet. They are so cute and I’m really happy that something I’m making is being so well received!

An Everyday Story has great blog post about how to stop children from interrupting when you’re talking.

I was chatting with her one day when her (then 3-year-old) son wanted to say something. Instead of interrupting though, he simply placed his hand on her wrist and waited. My friend placed her hand over his to acknowledge him and we continued chatting.

After she had finished what she was saying, she turned to him. I was in awe! So simple. So gentle. So respectful of both the child and the adult.

I love reading about various techniques that can help with raising our daughter to be polite and well mannered. This is going to be something we will encourage.

If you have young children and have tried this or something similar, let us know in the comments!

Sell your homemade online – Here are some links!

If you’re handy with a crochet hook or love the duel wielding knitting sticks, you might like to sell your items online. I’ve found an app through Facebook that is allowing me to sell 10 items in store for free. Some other websites are linked below!

Do you know of other sites? Let us know in the comments below!

Help – It’s OK to accept it

Being a parent is hard work. Whether you’re going to work to support the family or staying home and looking after the kids, or both! Having a good support system around you is important. If you don’t have people around to help, try looking on Facebook for groups in your area that’ll be able to support you.

I’m lucky enough to be able to drop our gorgeous little girl off at my mothers place once / twice a week to get out of the house. She’s also been really helpful and buying us things that we haven’t thought to buy. She offers her advice without being over the top which is truly a blessing.

Accepting help isn’t saying that you’re not good enough. If someone offers help, take it. You need to look after yourself in order to look after your little one.

Money saving tip: Dish washing liquid in a dispenser

I never realised how much excess dish washing liquid I used until after the baby was born and we were watching our money more than ever before. I was being quite liberal with the suds. So when we finished with the soap dispenser in the bathroom, I removed the label and filled it up with dish washing liquid. A few squirts in the sink are more than enough to do the daily dishes.
